NBC has set the core cast for Shades Of Blue.
Warren Kole (Common Law, The Following), Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos, Sons Of Anarchy), Ray Liotta (The League, Texas Rising) and Vincent Laresca (24, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) have joined the cast of the 13 episode drama series which is being toplined by Jennifer Lopez.
Shades Of Blue follows Harlee McCord (Lopez), a single mother and police officer recruited to work undercover for the FBI’s anti-corruption task force. Part of a close-knit unit known for its conviction record, Harlee has become compromised by her colleagues — all of whom also pitch in to help raise her daughter — and finds herself faced with the moral dilemma of working against her cop brothers in order to redeem herself
Warren Kole has been cast as Robert Staal, a relentlessly ambitious up-and-coming FBI agent desperate to make a name for himself; Drea de Matteo will play Shirley Nazario, a tough, outspoken female cop who holds her own with the men in her crew, and yet her brashness covers her insecurities; Ray Liotta portrays Bill Wozniak, the Lieutenant in command of the close-knit group of cops; while Vincent Laresca is set as Tony Espada, the bulldog and moral compass for his team.
Shades Of Blue, which has the distinction of being the first series that NBC has picked up for the 2015-2016 season, is being penned by Adi Hasak and is set up at Universal Television, Ryan Seacrest Productions, Nuyorican Productions, EGTV and H’s Films. The executive producers are Jennifer Lopez, Nina Wass, Jack Orman, Ryan Seacrest, Adi Hasak, Elaine Goldsmith, Benny Medina and Barry Levision – the latter of whom is also attached to direct.
