Jeff Ford is returning to the UK.
The former Channel 5 executive is exiting his post as Director of Content for Irish broadcaster TV3 to take up a key role at Fox International Channels UK – the local arm of 21st Century Fox’s international channels business, which owns and operates such brands as FOX and National Geographic here in the UK.
Jeff Ford is joining Fox International Channels UK as Managing Director, a role which will see him assume responsibility for the growth and development of FOX UK, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD and Baby TV. He will take up the post in April and will be based out of FIC’s London office.
“We are delighted to welcome Jeff Ford to FIC”, said Fox International Channels’ EVP of Western and Northern Europe Diego Londono, to whom Jeff Ford will report. “Jeff’s knowledge of, and experience in, the UK TV market is exceptional and we look forward to working with him as our UK business continues to develop”.
Prior to moving to Ireland to join TV3 in 2012, Jeff Ford served as Channel 5’s Director of Programming and Channel 4’s Head of Acquisitions. In those two roles, he fostered strong working relationships with the Hollywood studios, something which will be key as FIC seeks to drive the growth of FOX UK – the exclusive home to such series as NCIS and The Walking Dead.
“I am thrilled to be joining FIC. FOX has always been first in providing the best content to consumers and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to continue driving that strategy”, said Ford. “Over the past 20 years, I have acquired some of the best series to come out of the US and am looking forward to delivering more quality shows to FOX”.
