It’s official: Really’s revival of Most Haunted is a success.
The UKTV owned and operated channel has picked up the paranormal series fronted by Yvette Fielding for a further two seasons, the show’s second and third. Like the initial run of Most Haunted, both the second and third season will consist of 10 episodes.
Most Haunted, which sees Yvette Fielding and the team investigate purported paranormal activity in locations across the UK, was revived by Really last June, after UKTV reached a deal with series producer Antix Productions. Prior to that, the series had been off the air for some three years, since it was axed by its previous broadcaster Sky Living.
The two-season pick up from UKTV comes after Most Haunted debuted on Really last summer to strong ratings. Across its ten week run, the series averaged 251K viewers, smashing the channel’s 12 month slot average by more than 80%.
“Paranormal Thursdays continue to perform brilliantly for Really, with Most Haunted, Ghost Adventures, and Paranormal Witness all featuring in the channel’s top five programming across 2014”, said Emma Ayech, General Manager of Really. “We’re delighted to be bringing our viewers more of the much-loved Most Haunted.”
“Most Haunted is a passion for me and being a part of such a great team is a dream come true. Do I get scared on this series? Well, yes…we all do”, added Yvette Fielding. “We have upped the game on this series like never before and moved paranormal programming to next level and as a result have filmed some of the best activity we have ever encountered.”
The ten episode second season of Most Haunted will premiere on Really this June.
