Fox is bringing back Bob’s Burgers.
The network has renewed the Loren Bouchard created animated comedy series for a 22 episode sixth season, the network announced on Thursday.
“We can’t help but love the Belcher family. This gem of a series is a rare feel-good blend of sharp wit and genuine heart that fans and critics alike have continued to love throughout its five seasons on FOX,” said Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group. “We are proud of Loren and Jim and the extremely talented voice cast who bring these unique characters to life with both humor and charm each week. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for Season Six.”
Bob’s Burgers follows a third-generation restaurateur as he runs his own burger joint with the help of his wife and their three kids. Bob has big ideas about burgers, condiments and sides, but only a few thoughts on customer service and business management. Despite his greasy counters, lousy location and occasionally spotty service, Bob is convinced his burgers speak for themselves. The animated series features the voice talents of H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal.
Since its launch on Fox in 2011, Bob’s Burgers has been a staple on the network’s Sunday night animated block “Animation Domination”, alongside the likes of The Simpsons and Family Guy. Always a decent ratings performer, the fifth season saw a spike in viewership with the season opener jumping 60% from the season four finale.
