CBS is adding two cast members to their new Summer series Zoo.
The Closer and Major Crimes alum Billy Burke and House Of Card’s Kristen Connolly have signed on for series regular roles on the 13 episode adaptation of the James Patterson novel of the same name.
Zoo is a global thriller about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the planet. As the assaults become more cunning, coordinated and ferocious, a young renegade biologist (James Wolk) is thrust into the race to unlock the pandemic’s mystery before there’s no place left for people to hide.
Billy Burke has been cast as Mitch, a straight-shooting large animal veterinarian who prefers the simple company of animals to navigating the complexities of humans; while Kristen Connolly Will play Jamie, a passionate young journalist intent on uncovering the story behind the mysterious animal behavior she’s been tracking.
Based on the Patterson novel that was published in 2012, Zoo is being produced by CBS Television Studios and was penned by Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg. All four will also executive produce alongside James Mangold, Cathy Konrad, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout and Steve Bowen.
