2014 was a good year for Ovation.
The Arts focused network, who in the past have acquired such UK shows as The Scapegoat and Sky Arts’ A Young Doctor’s Notebook, hit a distribution milestone this year and is now available in some 52 million homes in the United States. In addition, the network’s year-to-date prime time household ratings are up 32% over 2013.
“In 2014, Ovation secured carriage in new markets or was added to new packages with four of our six largest affiliates,” said Brad Samuels, Ovation’s Executive Vice-President of Content Distribution. “We’re delighted with the support we’ve seen from our affiliate partners across the board and are looking forward to reaching new milestones again in 2015.”
Ovation is looking to continue that forward momentum in 2015 with the launch of two new shows: music themed series On The Record With Mick Rock and the Dave Holmes hosted American Canvas which explores the hidden art and cultural gems of such cities as San Francisco, Austin and Miami.
In addition, they will also be debuting the 18 episode eighth season of the UKTV/CBC/ITVSGE/Shatesbury Films co-production Murdoch Mysteries (known as The Artful Detective on Ovation) on Saturday February 21st at 7/6c; and the fourth season of art profile series The Art Of on Wednesday January 7th at 10/9c.
