Showtime is slowly assembling the cast for their comedy pilot Roadies.
Luke Wilson (Old School), Imogen Poots (The Look Of Love), Rafe Spall (One Day), Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider) and Peter Cambor (NCIS: Los Angeles) are all set to star in the half-hour pilot, which hails from Cameron Crowe, Winnie Holzman And J.J. Abrams.
Penned and directed by Crowe, Roadies follows a hot-ticket tour, but with a simple twist: the band is in the background and the roadies take the spotlight. The comedy takes “an inside look” at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of characters who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way.
Luke Wilson plays road-weary and sleep-deprived tour manager Bill, who is five years sober; and Imogen Poots portrays Kelly Ann, a first-rate electrical tech with a great heart, questionable people skills, and a desire to make her mark on the world.
Meanwhile, Keisha Castle-Hughes has been cast as Donna Mancini, the band’s outspoken and passionate sound mixer; Rafe Spall as Reg Whitehead, a wildly successful British financial advisor sent by management to oversee the crew’s budget; and Peter Cambor as “Milo,” an offbeat American anglophile guitar tech.
