Amazon Prime Instant Video UK has today launched Amazon Front Row with Ed Sheeran, a new concert film featuring footage from a “secret gig” held earlier this year in London, TVWise has learned.
The gig in question was arranged by Amazon and took place in September at the rooftop of their London office. 60 luck fans were invited to the event and in addition to seeing the exclusive performance, they also got the chance to pose questions to Ed Sheeran in between tracks
Amazon opted to released the film today after it emerged that Sheeran’s latest album X was the best-selling album of 2014 so far and went straight to number one in the UK, the US and more than 20 countries worldwide. It also comes ahead of his much anticipated headline gigs at Wembley Stadium.
“This year has been Ed’s year, undisputedly,” said Amazon Prime Instant Video’s Chris Bird. “Having seen him perform at our exclusive event in September, we knew tickets for the UK dates of his tour were going to be difficult to get hold of. We’re giving those fans who missed out, the chance to skip the queues and push straight to the front row to see Ed at the very top of his game.”
