Sky Arts has set a debut date for their one-off drama Marked.
The 30 minute effort, which stars 24: Live Another Day alums Kiefer Sutherland and Stephen Fry, will debut on the channel on Thursday December 18th at 10pm.
Marked tells the story of James (Sutherland), a seemingly regular guy who has been ground down by the pressures of work, family, money and life. Drowning in debt, James hits crisis point and in his desperation agrees to carry out a hit. But before he passes the point of no return, he discovers that things aren’t quite as they seem. Instead of the mark, he is confronted with the last person (Fry) he expects to see. Kevin McNally also stars.
Picked up earlier this year as part of Sky Arts’ Playhouse Presents strand, the 30 minute drama was penned by Greg Ellis, who also served as the director. It hails from Stephen Fry’s production company Sprout Pictures, with Jo McClellan, Gina Carter and Stephen Fry serving as the executive producers.
Speaking at the time Marked was commissioned back in July, Director of Sky Arts Phil Edgar Jones said: “When Stephen and Kiefer agreed to do a Playhouse Presents…, it was like all my Christmas’ rolled into one. Their enthusiasm to work together is evident and it echoes our own customers’ enthusiasm for amazing and inspiring drama. Sky is committed to working with the best, whether that is great actors, writers or directors, and giving them the freedom to create great work with gusto.”
