Showtime has unveiled the key art for the upcoming fifth season of Shameless.
Shameless follows the daily lives of the members of the blue collar Gallagher family who live in the South Side of Chicago. The working class family struggles to make ends meet while Frank, the patriach of the Gallagher clan, can usually be found at the local bar spending what little money they have.
Based on the UK series of the same name and developed for US television by John Wells, Shameless stars William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Justin Chatwin, Jeremy Allen White, Cameron Monaghan, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, Joan Cusack, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton and Laura Slade Wiggins.
Set to premiere on January 11th, the new season finds the Gallaghers dealing with both the upside and downside of personal and urban renewal. As their neighborhood begins a move towards gentrifying, (or as Emmy Rossum puts it “There’s an invasion of hipsters and coffee shops”) the Gallagher clan begins to reconcile their chaotic past in the hopes of building a better future.
The key art shows the Gallagher clan on the outside looking in; pressing their noses up against the window of one of the coffee shops invading their neighbourhood as part of the gentrification/urban renewal project in Chicago.
