BBC One has unveiled the first image from the upcoming 90 minute Sherlock special.
The special was commissioned by BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore and the BBC’s Controller of Drama Commissioning Ben Stephenson earlier this year and is expected to air in early-mid 2015, followed by a full three episode fourth season later in the year.
The first look image, which was initially tweeted by executive producer Sue Virtue, shows Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock and Watson, but in more traditional Victorian era costumes associated with the lore, rather than the modern day take of Sherlock.
Production on the Special is expected to commence shortly, following on from today’s table read.
