Discovery UK is teaming up with Sky Vision Productions for Ebola Exposed, a one-off documentary about the deadly virus, which is being voiced by The Walking Dead and The Driver star David Morrissey.
The fast-turnaround documentary explores the origins of Ebola, what could happen if the virus continues to evolve and how viral archaeology can revolutionise the fight against Ebola. It also features commentary from a wide array of doctors and scientists, including Professor Peter Piot – who helped identify the virus in the 1970s.
Ebola Exposed was commissioned by Dan Korn, Senior Vice-President and Head of Programming of Discovery Networks Western Europe and is being co-produced by Discovery Networks UK and Sky Vision, who will also handle international distribution. Sky Vision’s Director of Programming & Development Danny Tipping is the executive producer.
“Discovery is dedicated to providing new scientific insight into domestic and international events”, said Discovery’s Dan Korn. “Ebola Exposed does exactly this, uncovering brand new scientific research about this virulent disease from those at the forefront of the fight against it”.
“This film reveals a shocking scientific detective story that starts over 20 million years ago’’, added Executive Producer Danny Tipping.
Ebola Exposed will premiere on Discovery Channel UK on Saturday November 22nd.
