The second season of BBC One’s fantasy series Atlantis will premiere on Saturday November 15th at 8:30pm, it has been announced.
Created by Howard Overman, Atlantis is set in legendary city of the same name: a mysterious ancient place that the young Jason arrives in and begins an amazing adventure, bringing to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends. The series is produced by Urban Myth Films & BBC Cymru Wales in association with BBC America and stars Jack Donnelly, Mark Addy, Juliet Stevenson, Sarah Parish, Jemima Rooper, Aiysha Hart and Robert Emms.
The show’s 13 episode second season will involve a dramatic shift of power in the kingdom. Pasiphae’s desire to reign has not abated and rivalry with step daughter Ariadne (Aiysha Hart) takes her to new depths. Jason’s personal involvement with Ariadne is surely a complication for Pasiphae, but will the knowledge that Jason is her flesh and blood weaken her resolve?
Vincent Regan (The Musketeers) and Amy Manson (Misfits) are joining the cast as series regulars for the new season, playing Dion and Medea, respectively. In addition, Robert Pugh (The Thirteenth Tale) and Peter de Jersey (Broadchurch) are set to appear in guest roles alongside returning guest star Ken Bones, who played Melas in the first season.
