Amazon has zeroed in on a launch for their fourth pilot season.
The e-commerce giant has announced that their next wave of pilots will debut on their streaming service Amazon Prime Instant Video in the US, the UK and Germany in early 2015.
Amazon’s fourth pilot season consists of seven projects, which includes Frank Spotnitz’s The Man In The High Castle; the US adaptation of Sky1’s Mad Dogs, which hails from The Shield‘s Shawn Ryan; Sam Baum and Sam Shaw’s Cocked; drama Point Of Honor, from Bates Motels Carlton Cuse; comedies Down Dog & Salem Rogers as well as docu-series The New Yorker Presents.
Under Amazon’s pilot model, the streaming service releases all of their pilots and invite Prime members in the United States, the UK and Germany to view them and provide feedback. That feedback is then used to help Amazon Studios decide which projects should go to series. Previous projects to go to series under this model include Alpha House, Transparent, Bosch and The After.
“Our first pilot season of 2015 brings some of the greatest storytellers in the business to Amazon customers with works of novelty and passion”, said Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios. “We’re very excited by these shows and look forward to getting customers’ reactions next year”.
