ABC Family Renews ‘Chasing Life’ For Second Season

Chasing LifeABC Family has renewed freshman drama series Chasing Life for a second season, TVWise has learned.

Chasing Life follows twenty-something April, a smart and quick witted aspiring journalist. Just as things start to look up at work, home and on the romance front with co-worker Dominic, April gets the devastating news from an estranged uncle that she has cancer.

Based on a Mexican series, Chasing Life is produced by BV Family Productions, Lionsgate & Televisa in association with ABC Family and stars Italia Ricci, Mary Page Keller, Aisha Dee, Richard Brancatisano and Haley Ramm.

The series, which is only halfway through its 20 episode first season, debuted on ABC Family back in June and has been a steady ratings performer for the network. Across its first 10 episodes, the show has averaged just over one million viewers and a 0.5 A18-49 rating. It also ranks as the number one cable series in numerous demos including Adults 18-34, Women 18-34, Viewers 12-34 and Females 12-34.
