Universal Channel has debuted the first trailer for the sixteenth season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which is set to premiere on the NBCU owned channel on Sunday October 19th at 10pm.
Created by Dick Wolf, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit revolves around the activities of the Manhattan Special Victims Unit of the NYPD, which investigates sexually based offences. The drama series is produced by Wolf Films in association with Universal Television and stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Tamara Tunie, Danny Pino, Kelli Giddish and Raul Esparza
In the opening episode of the show’s sixteenth season, titled Girls Disappeared, Sergeant Benson juggles work and her new role as foster mother to baby Noah Porter, while Amaro, now working the traffic beat in Queens, arrests an underage prostitute with connections to Noah’s mother Ellie, who was “greenlit” by her pimp and brutally murdered. Amaro’s undercover work sets off a chain of events that puts everyone connected to the case – even baby Noah – in danger.
