The Walking Dead alum Sarah Wayne Callies has signed on to co-star opposite Josh Holloway (Lost) in Carlton Cuse’s USA Network sci-fi pilot Colony, TVWise has learned.
Colony tells the story of a family torn by opposing forces and making difficult choices as they balance staying together with surviving the struggle of the human race. Set in the near future, the story takes place in Los Angeles, which exists in a state of occupation by a force of outside intruders. Some collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences.
Sarah Wayne Callies will play Katie Bowman, a mother of three who faces a daily struggle to keep her family safe and united in an occupied Los Angeles. She is the wife of former FBI agent Will Bowman who is forced to collaborate with the occupational government to bring down the growing resistance movement inside the Los Angeles colony.
Colony is being co-produced for USA Network by sister company Universal Cable productions and Legendary TV. The project was penned by Carlton Cuse & Ryan Condal, both of whom also serve as executive producers on the pilot – which if picked up would be the first science fiction series on USA Network since The 4400 wrapped its run in 2007.
