E4 has found the actor for their prank show Bad Robots.
Sir Michael Gambon, who played Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter feature film series, is set to voice the eponymous character in the six episode series, which is being produced independent production company Objective Productions.
Bad Robots features a range of everyday machines, from vending machines to photo booths, giving their users a really hard time. Fictional company Tezcorp Industries is behind the technological revolt with Bad Robot (Sir Michael Gambon) leading the mission to create chaos.
Created by Nathan Eastwood, Bad Robots was initially piloted as part of Channel 4′s Blaps before receiving a six episode series order at E4 back in July. Ben Spiteri is serving as the series producer, while Nathan Eastwood and Andrew Newman are executive producing. Paul Routledge is attached to direct.
Speaking at the time the series was commissioned, Channel 4’s Head of Comedy Phil Clarke said “We interact with machines every day; We rely on them utterly, and trust them implicitly. We’ve learnt to obey their instructions without question. So what happens when the machines go bad? This new prank shows reveals that there is nothing more hilarious, and nothing more enduring, than the human spirit when confronted by a bad robot.”
