Sky1 has recruited The Great British Bake Off co-host Mel Giedroyc to front their new 7 episode quiz series Relatively Clever.
Relatively Clever is a quiz tournament series that pits families against each other in knockout rounds. While essentially a test of intelligence and general knowledge, the series also puts family dynamics under the spotlight as teams of mums, dads, children and grandparents come together to compete for the trophy.
The John Stanley Productions produced series initially received a green-light in August as part of Sky1 Director Adam MacDonald’s commitment to investing in the channel’s weekday 8pm time-slot. Other recent commissions as part of this investment include The Kings & Queens of Speech, The Sun Set, Welcome To My Garden and Flintoff: Lord of the Fries.
“I’m very excited to be working on new Sky 1 quiz show, Relatively Clever”, said Mel Giedroyc. “Everyone loves a quiz and it’ll be great to see the families working together, putting their general knowledge and unashamed shrewdness to the test as they battle it out for the Relatively Clever trophy.”
While Sky1 Director Adam MacDonald added: “We’re delighted that Mel is joining the channel as the face of Relatively Clever. It’s an intelligent, entertaining quiz – and a family affair, with plenty of opportunity for Sky 1 customers to play along at home.”
