Jan Gooze-Zijl is getting an expanded role at UKTV.
The executive, who has served as UKTV’s Chief Financial Officer for the past four years, has been named Chief Financial & Operations Officer for the multi-channel broadcaster, effective immediately, TVWise has learned.
In his new role, Jan Gooze-Zijl will have responsibility for UKTV’s company finances, advertising sales, as well as technology and operations. The expanded remit will see him manage relationships with a range of UKTV’s partners including Red Bee Media, TVT, Sky Media Ireland and Channel 4 Sales – who sell UKTV’s ad inventory in the UK.
“Jan has been instrumental in the strong growth of the business over the last four years”, said UKTV CEO Darren Childs, to whom Jan Gooze-Zijl will continue to report. “His new and expanded remit will naturally align elements of the business that are fundamental to delivering UKTV’s continued success.”
While Jan Gooze-Zijl added: “I’m looking forward to bringing these teams together, and in doing so, building a world class capability to deliver our programming to UKTV’s millions of viewers, helping UKTV on its incredible growth journey with both its core linear channels and vital new business streams such as UKTV Play.”
The move to consolidate the financial and business operations teams under one executive comes in the wake of the recent departure of Executive Director of Business & Operations Julia Jordan. It is hoped the consolidation will continue the forward momentum of UKTV, who recently reported record revenue of £278 million and a third consecutive year of audience growth.
