Boomerang Grabs PGS Entertainment’s ‘Jungle Bunch’

The Jungle Bunch

Boomerang has acquired The Jungle Bunch To The Rescue!

The Turner owned channel – which is currently in the midst of a global revamp and rebrand – has closed a deal with PGS Entertainment, which gives them the rights to the Kids series across Europe and Southeast Asia, TVWise has learned.

The key markets covered by the deal include, but are not limited to, the UK, France, Benelux, Italy, the Nordics, the Philippines, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mongolia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Tahiti, Thailand and Vietnam and Taiwan.

Originally commissioned by France Télévisions and Super RTL, The Jungle Bunch To The Rescue! follows a somewhat dysfunctional family of Jungle animals including a penguin (who thinks he is a tiger), a tiger fish, a gorilla, a warthog and a bat. It is produced by TAT Productions & Master Films and has been the recipient of numerous awards and nominations, including one for a Kids Emmy Award.

“We are excited to be partnering with PGS to introduce our audiences to the award-winning The Jungle Bunch property through Boomerang’s channels across Europe and Southeast Asia,” said Cecilia Persson, Vice President of Acquisitions & Co-Production, EMEA International Turner Broadcasting System Europe.

“From the beginning, it’s been the quality of the storytelling and the completely engaging characters in The Jungle Bunch that have contributed to its incredible success”, added Guillaume Soutter, President of PGS Entertainment. “We are excited to have the show joining Boomerang, which will extend our viewership on an amazing platform for kids and families.”
