The third season of BBC One’s comedy series Citizen Khan will premiere on Friday October 31st at 8:30pm, it has been announced.
Created by Adil Ray, Citizen Khan is set in the capital of British Pakistan – Sparkhill, Birmingham – and follows the trials and tribulations of self-appointed Muslim community leader Mr Khan and his long suffering family. The comedy series is produced by BBC In-house Comedy and stars Adil Ray as Mr Khan, Shobu Kapoor as Mrs Khan, Maya Sondhi as Shazia Khan and Bhavna Limbachia as Alia Khan.
In the opening episode of season three, the Khan’s return from a trip to Pakistan with Mr Khan’s mother-in-law in tow.Mr Khan is lumbered with looking after her until a miracle happens when she announces she wants to move into a home. When Sam (Sally Lindsay) – the head of a local care centre – arrives, Mr Khan is over the moon. That is, until he discovers the mother-in-law maybe worth a few bob. With the help of son-in-law to be Amjad, a ridiculous disguise and a spying mission, Mr Khan tries to stop Naani moving out – at all costs.
