A+E Networks is extending their relationship with Bates Motel showrunner Carlton Cuse.
The company’s recently launched in house production A+E Studios has closed a first look development deal with the veteran writer/producer, whose other credits include Lost, The Strain, Colony and The Returned – the US adaptation of French series Les Revenants which is being produced by A+e Studios for flagship network A&E.
Under this pact, Carlton Cuse will work closely with A+E Studios’ Executive Vice-President Barry Jossen to develop new scripted projects for the A+E portfolio of networks, including A&E, Lifetime and History. This three-year deal with Cuse is the first such development pact that A+E Studios has inked with a creator/writer-producer since its launch last year.
“I’m very excited to be extending my relationship with A+E where I’ve had such a wonderful and supportive creative experience,” said Carlton Cuse. “I look forward to continuing to work on ‘The Returned’ and to developing other projects with Bob DeBitetto, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson and the amazing team at A+E. It’s a great place to work.”
“Carlton is a consummate showman and one of the greatest creative minds working in television today,” added Barry Jossen. “Since the start of A+E Studios, it has been our intention to expand our collaboration with Carlton. We know he is one of the few producers with the unique combination of creativity and skills to personally create, as well as nurture other writers. Now, we can continue on our path with Carlton toward producing many successful and brand-defining series together.”
