Tim Healy Joins BBC One's 'Still Open All Hours' – TVWise

Tim Healy has joined the cast of BBC One’s Still Open All Hours for its upcoming first season, TVWise has learned.
Still Open All Hours follows Granville, who some years back inherited the shop from his beloved but miserly Uncle Arkwright. He now runs it with his son Leroy, a cheerful, good-looking lad with more female admirers than Granville ever had. The series follows a day in the life of the shop and its customers including retired Nurse Gladys Emmanuel and the Black Widow.
Tim Healy will play Gastric, a man whose stomach has a mind of its own. As his wife has left him, love sick Gastric turns to Granville who sees himself as his romantic adviser. The actor, repped by The Artists Partnership (formerly known as Ken McReddie Associates), has previously starred in such comedies as ITV’s Benidorm and Sky Living’s The Spa, both of which hail from Endemol’s Tiger Aspect Productions.
Initially piloted last year as a one-off special before subsequently being picked up to series with a six episode order, Still Open All Hours is a follow up to the classic 1970s series Open All Hours. The comedy is produced by BBC In House Comedy and stars Sir David Jason, James Baxter, Lynda Barron, Stephanie Cole and Maggie Ollerenshaw. Open All Hours scribe Roy Clarke penned the new six episode series, which is executive produced by Gareth Edwards.
