Trashionista (FT)

Brain Power Studio is teaming with Rollman Entertainment and Go Girl Media to co-produce Trashionista, a 26 episode “crafting” series aimed at teenagers which promotes the importance of eco-sensitivity, up-cycling, creativity, and individuality.

Described as a “celebrity-friendly” series, Trashionista will be fronted by two “green hosts” and features a range of  fun and functional crafts, which make use of discarded items found in and around the home. The series will showcase ‘eco-chic’ and DIY environmentally conscious projects with step-by-step interactive demos. In addition, each episode will feature bonus crafting ideas, fun facts, and tips & tricks from top designers and artisans in the Upcycling DIY field and ‘Eco-Celebrities’ from TV, film, music and sports.

The series was created by Susie Singer Carter, Don Priess and Rollman Entertainment CEO Eric S. Rollman and was developed to have “multi platform potential”. TVWise understands that there is no broadcaster presently attached to the series, but the producers are hopeful of securing a potential broadcast partner in the coming months. Brain Power Studio will handle international distribution for Trashionista.

“Trashionista takes one of the most prolific sectors of the ‘Do-It-Yourself’ UGC world and brings it to a global audience through a high-quality production that gives it the mainstream platforms it deserves”, said Eric Rollman. “Working with the extraordinary talents of Beth and her team at Brain Power will ensure great execution and distribution for the project.”

While Beth Stevenson, Founder of Brain Power Studio added: “The trend for crafting combined with a global awareness of the importance of conservation make this series a recipe for success with tween and teen audience – throw in fashion, celebrities and décor and we have a magazine show with a fun but important message. We are excited to be working alongside the very talented people at Rollman Entertainment and Go Girl Media to make Trashionista walk the walk.”
