BBC One’s new three-part drama The Driver will premiere on Tuesday September 23rd at 9pm, it has been announced.
The Driver tells the story of Vince who, following a family mystery, blames himself and his inadequacies and, out of this crisis, he accepts an offer to start driving for a criminal gang. The drama is ultimately a redemptive story about a man who, under incredible circumstances, gets a second chance.
The cast includes David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), Claudie Blakley (What Remains), Colm Meaney (Hell On Wheels), Ian Hart (Rogue), Shaun Dingwall (Above Suspicion), Lee Ross (EastEnders), Harish Patel (Mr Stink), Lewis Rainer (Death Comes To Pemberley), Sacha Parkinson (Coronation Street) and Leanne Best (Ripper Street).
The three-parter was created by Danny Brocklehurst & Jim Poyser and is produced by Red Production Company and Highfield Pictures. Jolyon Simmonds is the series producer, while David Morrissey, Nicola Shindler and Polly Hill are the executive producers. The Hour helmer Jamie Payne directed The Driver
