Hunt Or Be Hunted.
That’s the message in the key art for the new season of The Walking Dead, which was released today by AMC. The first half of the 16 episode fifth season of The Walking Dead is set to premiere on AMC on Sunday October 12th at 9/8c.
Based on the graphic novel series by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead follows a group of people, led by deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes, who are attempting to survive after an outbreak has led to the rise of the undead (known colloquially as walkers). The drama series stars Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan. David Morrissey and Danai Gurira.
The show’s 16 episode fifth season, which will once again be aired in two parts, is expected to pick up from the season four finale which saw Rick and co outgunned, outnumbered, and trapped in a train car awaiting a grim fate. Speaking at SDCC last month, AMC President Charlie Collier said: “From the opening tease in the premiere onward, season 5 is without question the most ambitious and satisfying season this amazing team has ever crafted.”
