State of Affairs has found its First Gentleman.
Courtney B. Vance has reportedly joined the cast of NBC’s upcoming drama series about the President’s CIA briefer, which stars Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy) and Alfre Woodard (Desperate Housewives).
State of Affairs follows Charleston Tucker (Katherine Heigl), a key CIA attaché who counsels the President (Alfre Woodard) on high-stakes incidents around the world. She balances her intense political responsibilities with a complicated personal life.
Per Deadline, Vance has been cast as Marshall Payton, the First Gentleman of the United States. He is the latest addition to the cast which, in addition to Heigl and Woodard, also includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain and Tommy Savas.
State of Affairs, which is set to premiere on NBC on Monday November 17th, was created by Joe Carnahan and is being produced by Universal Television, Bob Simonds Company and Abishag Productions. The executive producers are Carnahan, Katherine Heigl, Nancy Heigl, Robert Simonds, Sophie Watts, Henry Crumpton, Rodney Faraon and Julia Franz.
