Will & Grace alum Sean Hayes has joined the cast of CBS’ comedy series The Millers as a series regular for its upcoming second season.
Sean Hayes will play Withers, Carol Miller’s new best friend and a new source of friction for Carol’s son, Nathan. He joins a cast which includes Will Arnett, Margo Martindale, Beau Bridges, Jayma Mays, JB Smoove, Nelson Franklin and Lulu Wilson. Hayes will make his first appearance on the show’s second season premiere this October.
“After years of being a fan and hearing from others how wonderful he is to work with, I couldn’t be more excited about Sean Hayes joining The Millers,” said series creator Greg Garcia. “The thought of he and Margo Martindale as BFFs makes me smile every time I think about it. We’re only just getting started, and writing this season’s stories has been a blast.”
For Hayes, the casting follows last year’s cancellation of his NBC comedy Sean Saves The World. His other recent television acting credits include Smash and Up All Night. Hayes has also been active as a producer through his Hazy Mills banner and serves as an executive producer on such shows as Grimm, Hot In Cleveland and The Soul Man.
The Millers is broadcast in the UK by Comedy Central, who will be airing the show’s second season this Autumn.
