Game of Thrones star Michelle Fairley has joined the cast of ABC’s drama series Resurrection in a recurring role for season two.
Resurrection tells the story of Jacob, a young boy who wakes up in a rice paddy in a rural Chinese province and with the help of an ICE agent returns to his home tom of Arcadia, where he supposedly died some 30 years earlier. The series stars Omar Epps, Frances Fisher, Matt Craven, Devin Kelley, Mark Hildreth, Samaire Armstrong, Sam Hazeldine, Landon Gimenez and Kurtwood Smith.
Michelle Fairley, who just wrapped a run as Margot Al-Harazi on Fox’s 24: Live Another Day, has been cast as Margaret Langston, the formidable matriarch of the Langston clan who has been dead for over three decades. She will reappear in Arcadia as one of the returned and her reappearance will have consequences for the entire family. Margaret brings with her knowledge of the Langston family’s dark past, a past she is determined to keep hidden.
The drama is based on a novel by Jason Mott and s production company Plan B. The executive producers are Michele Fazekas, Tara Butters, Joann Alfano, Aaron Zelman, Dan Attias, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Jon Liebman. Resurrection, which recently secured a lucrative UK deal, returns for its second season on ABC on Sunday September 28th at 9/8c.
