MTV has renewed their original comedy series Faking It for a 10 episode second season, TVWise has confirmed.
Faking It is a romantic comedy about two best friends who love each other – in slightly different ways. After numerous failed attempts to become popular, the girls are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which launches them to instant celebrity status. Seduced by their newfound fame, Karma and Amy decide to keep up their romantic ruse.
The comedy series was created Dana Min Goodman & Julia Wolov and developed for television by Hart of Dixie scribe Carter Covington. Faking It stars Katie Stevens, Rita Volk, Gregg Sulkin, Michael Willett and Bailey Buntain. The series, which was initially piloted by MTV back in 2013, is executive produced by Carter Covington.
The news, which was first reported by Deadline, comes ahead of tomorrow night’s season one finale and shortly after a UK deal was inked for the series. “Faking It has proved to be the perfect companion show to Awkward, retaining nearly 90 percent of its lead in each week. We’re excited about Carter Covington’s delicious plans for season two”, said MTV President Susanne Daniels.
