Netflix has today released the key art for the second season of their original drama series Hemlock Grove.
Hemlock Grove revolves around the eccentric residents of a dilapidated former Pennsylvania steel town and the murder of 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell. Through the investigation, the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing that nothing is what it seems. The series is produced by Gaumont International Television and stars Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron, Penelope Mitchell, Freya Tingley, and Dougray Scott.
The show’s second season, which premieres on Friday July 11th in all territories where Netflix has a presence, sees the town coming to grips with the shocking massacre incurred by one of its deadliest creatures. Charles “Chic” Eglee served as showrunner on season two and executive produced alongside Eli Roth, Brian McGreevy, Lee Shipman, Eric Newman and Michael Connolly.
“Season two of Hemlock Grove is a hot mix of passion, intrigue and supernatural thrills that come together in mysterious and riveting ways,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “The intensity and suspense take things to a whole new level and open doors to a brand new chapter that our members are going to love.”
While Executive Producer Eli Roth added: “I cannot wait for fans to see what’s in store for season two – it is going to blow away all expectations. Netflix has been an incredible partner, and whenever we wanted to take the story in a dangerous direction, they encouraged us to go even further – into a scarier, darker and sexier place. We guarantee you won’t see anything like this anywhere else on television.”
