ITV LogoITV has hired Sky’s Comedy Commissioning Editor Saskia Schuster to spearhead their renewed push into scripted comedy.

Schuster will be responsible for scripted comedy across all ITV channels and will report to Elaine Bedell, ITV’s Director of Entertainment & Comedy. She will take up post this Summer when she will inherit a line up of scripted comedy which includes Birds of a Feather and Vicious.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the ITV family”, said Saskia Schuster. “ITV is leading the field across genres so when you throw into the mix passion and ambition for comedy growth, it’s the most exciting place to be,”

Schuster had been with Sky since 2011 and was responsible for commissioning numerous hits including Yonderland and The Kumars for Sky1. Prior to her time at Sky, she held key roles with numerous companies including Toff Media, Talkback Thames and Objective Productions.

“It has been a pleasure working with Saskia Schuster at Sky”, said Sky’s Head of Comedy Lucy Lumsden. “Her time here has seen her commission and oversee a rich array of shows including Psychobitches, Little Crackers and Yonderland of which she can be very proud. We wish her the very best in her new role.”
