TBS has ordered a 13 episode sixth and final season of the ABC Studios produced comedy Cougar Town, set to air in 2015.
Created by Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel, Cougar Town follows a group of friends (known as the cul-de-sac crew), led by Jules Cobb, who support each other through the challenges and pitfalls of life; with a little dysfunction and a whole lot of wine. The comedy series stars Courtney Cox, Christa Miller, Brian Van Holt, Busy Philipps, Dan Byrd & Ian Gomez.
The pick up for a final season, which comes two months after season five finished its run on the cable network, ensures that the series will have 102 episodes in the can by the time it wraps its run – two more than ABC Studios needed to be able to sell the comedy in syndication. Cougar Town began its life on ABC, where it aired its first three seasons. It was in 2012, when it looked like the series might be cancelled that TBS stepped in and picked up a fourth season of Cougar Town.
