Comedy Central UK is making plans to boost their web presence.
The broadcaster, which is a joint venture between BSkyB and Viacom International Media Networks, has hired former Heat Editor Sam Delaney as in Editor In Chief of Digital. In that role Delaney will be charged with boosting Comedy Central UK’s digital presence and creating one of the “biggest and best” comedy sites on the web. He will commission original content, create a hub for funny videos and

While Delaney added: “Comedy Central has always been the home of TV LOLs and I’m very excited about making it the home of internet LOL’s as well. We’ll be providing a platform for comedy fans to watch, enjoy and share all types of funny stuff, ranging from viewer videos to material from well-known writers, performers and filmmakers. Plus, we’ll be roping in some random celebs to make fools of themselves for our audience too.”
