Tim Davie is set to re-join the BBC executive board following the departure of HR Boss Lucy Adams, TVWise has learned.
Davie is currently Chief Executive of BBC Worldwide and prior to assuming that role in April 2013 he served as acting Director General of the BBC from November 2012-April 2013, filing the gap between the short tenure of George Entwistle and the arrival of current DG Tony Hall. With Davie taking Adams’ position on the executive board, the make up will remain unaffected with seven executive directors and six non-executive directors.
“Tim already regularly attends Executive Board and brings his insight and commercial knowledge to our discussions”, said Tony Hall, Director General of the BBC. “By formalising this role we’ll ensure that we continue to benefit from his experience and global perspective.”
While Tim Davie added: “I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Tony and the team on the BBC’s Executive Board. I believe we’ve got a strong team of Executive and Non-Executive Directors who will help ensure licence fee payers are well served.”
