USA Network is adding another drama series to their line-up.
The NBCU cable network has handed a 10 episode series order to their Untitled Sean Jablonski Drama Pilot. The project, which hails from Jablonkski and Universal Cable Productions, is set to premiere on USA Network this Summer.
The untitled drama follows investment banker Neil Truman who discovers his wife is involved with a male escort. When Neil gains possession of the escort’s phone, he uncovers a unique perspective on his life and what motivates women to stray, as his wife Grace contemplates whether her needs are being met and if her marriage is worth saving. The UCP produced drama stars The Glades alum Matt Passmore and Stephanie Szostak (The Devil Wears Prada).
“This is a powerful new addition to our drama slate and marks the next generation of sophisticated storytelling for USA,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “Through a culturally resonant story of an imperfect marriage, the series takes a captivating look at real modern day issues facing couples in today’s complicated world.”
The as-yet untitled project is the first drama series pick up for USA in some time. The net has instead been focusing on its comedy and limited event series slate; having recently handed orders to comedies Benched, Sirens & Playing House and the Jason Isaacs fronted event series DIG. The series order also comes at a time of change for the network with McCumber having recently been promoted to become the sole President of USA, while they are also preparing to bid farewell to veteran series Psych. Meanwhile, White Collar, which has aired five seasons on USA Network, has yet to receive a pick up for a sixth season, though a renewal for a final season is considered likely.
