TV Trailer: ‘Serangoon Road’ On Sony Entertainment Television

Sony Entertainment Television has released a first look trailer for Serangoon Road, their latest exclusive series which is set to premiere on Wednesday April 9th at 9pm.

Serangoon Road is set in 1960s Singapore, which is described as a thrilling melting pot of political and colonial tension, criminal gangs, and roving CIA agents. The drama picks up when Patricia Cheng’s husband, who runs the Cheng Detective Agency, is mysteriously murdered while working a case. With his sudden death, she enlists the services of enigmatic Australian Sam Callaghan to help her run the Cheng Detective Agency. But it soon becomes clear that his investigation could have major international implications. Serangood Road features an international cast which includes, amongst others, Don Hany, Joan Chen, Alaric Tay, Michael Dorman, Pamelyn Chee and Chin Han.

The 10 episode drama was the first original series for HBO Asia and was co-produced by Australian public broadcaster ABC. The drama was initially floated to international buyers at MIPCOM 2013 by international distributor Content Television and Digital, who recently inked the exclusive UK deal with SPT backed broadcaster Sony Entertainment Television. With the UK pick up, Serangoon Road joins a selective roster of exclusive first run series on SET which also includes NBC’s Community and TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland.
