NBC has released details of their 2014 summer schedule which in addition to unscripted fare include six new scripted series, such as the John Malkovich fronted Crossbones and new comedy series Undateable.
With a whopping six scripted series airing across summer – the latest in a series of moves on the part of NBC to programme year around instead of just between September and May – this will be the network’s busiest Summer schedule in more than two decades.
Debuting first is new drama The Night Shift, starring Eoin Macken, which launches on Tuesday May 27th at 10/9c. Bill Lawrence’s new comedy Undateable premieres on Thursday May 29th at 9/8c and will are double-bills every week. Pirate drama Crossbones sets sail on Friday May 30th at 10/9c.
The just acquired Taxi Brooklyn, which is described as an action-comedy police procedural, kicks off on Wednesday June 25th at 10/9c. Swedish comedy Welcome To Sweden, EP’d by Parks & Recreation star Amy Poehler, follows on Thursday July 10th at 9/8c. That is followed by Canadian co-production Working The Engels on Thursday July 10th at 9:30/8:30c.
