James Roday is wasting no time in lining up his next television gig.
The actor, who has led the cast of the recently cancelled USA Network series Psych for the past 8 seasons, has joined the cast of CBS comedy pilot Good Session as the male lead, TVWise has learned.
Roday, whose list of television credits in addition to Psych includes Miss Match and First Years, has boarded the Matt Miller penned pilot in the role of Joel, a dedicated middle-school guidance counselor who thinks his marriage is a happy one, but the happy couple soon finds themselves in counselling.
Good Session follows a happy couple who decides to see a therapist to help them decide if they should have a baby but quickly discover that they have more to discuss. The half hour effort, which is being produced by Warner Bros. Television, is being written by John Hamburg and Matt Miller. The pair executive produce the comedy, while Hamburg is also directing.
