Veteran Hollywood actor James Rebhorn has passed away after a long battle with Melanoma, which the actor was first diagnosed with in 1992. He was 65.
A character actor who began his career in the theater, Redhorn’s more recent roles have included turns on Showtime’s Homeland, playing the part of Carrie Mathison’s father and USA Network’s White Collar, on which he played the part of Special Agent Reese Hughes, the head of the FBI’s New York White Collar Crime Unit, for the show’s first four seasons.
Beyond White Collar and Homeland, Rebhorn amassed an impressive list of television credits, which includes roles on Guiding Light, Kate & Allie, The Equalizer, Wiseguy, New York Undercover, Now and Again, The Practice, Seinfeld, Third Watch, Hack, Waterfront, The Book of Daniel, Law & Order, Boston Legal, 30 Rock, Big Lake, Enlightened and The Good Wife.
James Rebhorn also enjoyed a very active feature film career and starred in such films as The Yum Yum Girls, Soup For One, Silkwood, Heart of Midnight, Desperate Hours, White Sands, Lorenzo’s Oil, Guarding Tess, Independence Day, The Game, The Talented Mr Ripley, Head of State, Bernard & Dorris and Real Steel.
