Channel 5 has ordered seven entertainment themed countdown shows which will shine “a spotlight on the world of entertainment and showbiz”.
The seven countdown shows include The Ultimate Action Movies, presented by Vinnie Jones; Most Shocking Moments In Pop, Britains Favourite Double Acts, The Greatest Ever War Films, TV’s Greatest Detectives, TV’s Nastiest Villains and Greatest 80s Movie Moments.
The results of the specials, each of which have a running time of three hours, will be based on votes from the public on Channel 5’s website. They are being produced by Objective Productions and Crook Productions, with Matt Crook, Emma Clarke and Andrew Newman serving as executive producers.
“These shows make for a fantastic night in and I hope there’s something to entertain everyone here”, said Channel 5’s Commissioning Editor fro Daytime and Soaps Greg Barnett, who commissioned the seven shows. “I’m very excited, not only to find out how the people of Britain vote in the polls but also to hear what fascinating stories and anecdotes come out of the fantastic array of contributors we’ll be speaking to in each of the shows”.
While executive producer Emma Clarke added: “We can’t wait to see who and what the Channel 5 viewers really think are the best of the best in these countdowns. But with so much great material to choose from, we think it’s going to be a close fought race for the number one spots”
