Ben Daniels is about to try his hand at ballet.
The House of Cards alum has joined the cast of Starz’s upcoming 8 episode ballet drama series Flesh and Bone, TVWise has learned.
Daniels, whose long list of credits also includes stints on Law & Order: UK and the recently cancelled BBC period drama The Paradise, has been cast as Paul Grayson, a volatile but brilliant artistic director.
He joins a cast which is being led by dancer Sarah Hay (Black Swan) and includes a number of world-renowned dancers, such as former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Irina Dvorovenko and current soloist Sascha Radetsky
Created by Moira Walley-Beckett, Flesh and Bone follows Claire (Sarah Hay), a ballet dancer who has a distinctly troubled past, as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. The dark and gritty series will unflinchingly explore the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world. The executive producers are Moira Walley-Beckett, Lawrence Bender, Kevin Brown and John Melfi. David Michôd is also attached to direct the opening episode of the series, which begins production in New York this Spring for a 2015 premiere on Starz.
