While most networks still have their heads firmly in the upcoming 2014-2015 season, NBC is already looking forward to the 2015-2016 season.
The peacock has handed out a 13 episode straight-to-series order to Shades Of Blue, a drama project which is being toplined by Jennifer Lopez and exec produced by Lopez, Nina Wass, Ryan Seacrest, Adi Hasak, Elaine Goldsmith and Beeny Medina. Productions expected to commence next year, for a premiere during in the 2015-2016 season.
Shades Of Blue follows Harlee McCord (Lopez), a single mother and police officer recruited to work undercover for the FBI’s anti-corruption task force. Part of a close-knit unit known for its conviction record, Harlee has become compromised by her colleagues — all of whom also pitch in to help raise her daughter — and finds herself faced with the moral dilemma of working against her cop brothers in order to redeem herself. Hasak is set to pen the project, which is being produced by Universal Television, Ryan Seacrest Productions, Nuyorican Productions, EGTV and H’s Films.
