Morena Baccarin is heading back to ABC. The actress, who starred in the network’s sci-fi series V for two seasons prior to her stint on Showtime’s Homeland, has joined the cast of ABC’s medical drama pilot Warriors.
Baccarin has been cast as Tory Sterling, who is returning to Walter Reed after a tour in Afghanistan. She joins a large cast which includes Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Eloise Mumford (The River), Justina Machado (Welcome To The Family), Steve Kazee (Elementary), Hampton Fluker and Don Hany (Underbelly).
Warriors is a medical drama which follows the best and brightest of active duty military doctors and nurses as they practice trailblazing medicine on critically wounded warriors returning home from Afghanistan, on military families and veterans, as well as administering to Washington’s government elite. The pilot is being written by Christopher Keyser. ABC Studios and Mandeville Television are producing with Keyser, Laurie Zaks, Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman serving as executive producers. Last Resort helmer Martin Campbell is attached to direct.
