Lifetime is calling time on their drama series Drop Dead Diva, TVWise has learned.

The network has announced that the upcoming 13 episode sixth season, which premieres on Sunday March 23rd at 9/8c, will be the show’s last. The decision to end the series with its upcoming season comes after Drop Dead Diva was initially cancelled after season four, only to be revived for a fifth season when series producer Sony Pictures Television managed to negotiate a renewal with a reduced budget. The series was then picked up for a sixth season in October 2013.

Created by Josh Berman, Drop Dead Diva tells the story of shallow model Deb who suddenly dies in an accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant plus-sized attorney. The drama series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and stars Brooke Elliot, Margaret Cho, April Bowlby, Jackson Hurst, Kate Levering, Josh  Stamberg and Ben Feldman. The show’s sixth and final season is poised to pick up from the season five finale in which Jane thought she would finally have her happy ending with Grayson, until Brittany revealed to Grayson that Jane isn’t who he thinks she is.
