Lifetime UK is planning a return to The Client List. The pay TV channel, owned and operated by A+E Networks UK, has picked up the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the second and final season of the Jennifer Love Hewitt fronted drama from Sony Pictures Television.

Based on Lifetime’s two hour TV movie of the same name, The Client List revolves around Riley Parks, who, after being deserted by her husband takes a job at a seemingly traditional day spa in a neighbouring town, but she soon discovers that the spa is merely a front for other “services” being offered by the employees. The drama series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Fedora Films & Jaffe/Braunstein and stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Cybil Sheppard, Loretta Devine, Colin Egglesfield. Rebecca Field, Naturi Naughton, Alicia Lagano, Kathleen York and Brian Hallisay.

The pick up of the show’s second season follows the initial acquisition of the series from SPT in July 2013, ahead of the launch of Lifetime UK in November 2013. The first season then launched on Lifetime UK on November 4th and across its first season averaged a consolidated audience of 150K viewers, well above the slot average and ranking as the fledgling channel’s third highest rated scripted entry, behind Witches Of East End and the recently launch mini-series Bonnie & Clyde, respectively. On the whole Lifetime UK, who intend to commission a number of UK productions in the factual/unscripted genre in the next year, have seen greater success with scripted vs. unscripted, with dramas frequently out-rating unscripted efforts.
