ABC’s comedy series The Middle has found a new UK home.
The series, which aired its first four seasons in the UK on Sky1, is heading to Comedy Central UK after the broadcaster struck a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution to pick up the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the show’s fifth season. Season five of The Middle is set to premiere on Comedy Central UK on Tuesday January 21st at 9pm.
Created by Eileen Heisler & DeAnn Heline, The Middle follows the daily life of Frances Heck, a loving wife and mother of three, who lives in Orson, Indiana with her family. The comedy series stars Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher, Atticus Shaffer and Chris Kattan. In the opening episode of the show’s fifth season, titled The Drop Off, a short drive turns into an eternity as the Hecks try to move Axl into his college dorm.
The Middle is the latest US sitcom to find a home on Comedy Central UK as the channel is ramping up its offerings of first run content. The broadcaster is also home to FX’s Anger Management and the CBS series’ Two And A Half Men and Mike & Molly. Comedy Central UK also recently inked deals to pick up the final two seasons of NBC’s The Office and CBS’ new series The Millers and We Are Men.
