Following on from Fox topper Kevin Reilly’s comments at the TCA Winter Press Tour that they were close to picking up a tenth season of Bones, the network has today officially renewed the veteran drama for the 2014-2015 season. In addition, the network has also announced that the series, which recently moved to a new time-slot on Friday nights, will return to its original Monday time-slot as of March 10th at 8/7c.
“Over the course of nine seasons, Bones has grown from a hit crime procedural into a beloved pillar of our lineup that resonates with fans in a way that only the best of shows can,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. “Our viewers have embraced Emily, David and the entire cast and characters of Bones as their very own, and I think they are going to love what Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan have planned for Season 10!”
Created by Hart Hanson and based on the series of novels by Kathy Reichs, Bones follows forensic anthropologist Dr Temperance Brennan who, along with her team at the Jeffersonian Institute, assists the FBI with their investigations. The drama series stars Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Michaela Conlin, T. J. Thyne, Tamara Taylor and John Francis Daley. Stephen Nathan will serves as showrunner on season ten, with Hanson moving on to his recently picked up series Backstrom.
