BBC Three has ordered a broadcast pilot for Sexy Beasts, a new dating show format which will explore the differences between emotional and physical attraction for both men and women.
The pilot, which was commissioned by BBC Three Controller Zai Bennett and the BBC’s Executive Editor of Entertainment Commissioning Alan Tyler, is set to air on BBC Three on Valentine’s Day.
Sexy Beasts takes a surprising look at the world of dating, investigating the differences between emotional and physical attraction for both men and women. In a world where people now look for love using dating sites and often base their decision simply on the way someone looks, this show explores if true love can blossom based just on character alone. Lion Television is producing with Simon Welton and Bill Hobbins serving as the executive producers.
“The show promises a completely unique take on dating”, said Alan Tyler, the BBC’s Executive Editor of Entertainment Commissioning. “Both funny and insightful, we are looking forward to bringing a twist to Valentine’s Day.”
While Lion Television’s Simon Welton added: “We’re excited about this new format which takes dating decisions to a whole new level.”
